Join us for the inaugural Gibsons Seafood Festival, presented by Fisherman’s Market, happening September 18–20! Celebrate local seafood, community, and the coastal spirit of Gibsons with a Deep Sea Dance Party on Friday, seafood specials and a sea-themed artisan market throughout Gibsons Public Market on Saturday, followed by merchant specials and Shuckfest at Smitty’s Oyster House on Sunday. From the waters of the Sunshine Coast to the businesses and community that make Gibsons special, it’s a weekend to eat local, explore local, and celebrate all things seafood!

Dive into a night of throwback hits at Gibsons Public Market on Friday, September 18th from 7–10 PM! DJ Buzy B will be spinning your favourite throwback tunes all night long while you dance the night away surrounded by our deep-sea-inspired decor.
Early Bird Tickets: $10 until August 31
Regular Tickets: $20 after August 31 and at the door
Slow things down, wander through TidePools Aquarium, and enjoy a little underwater escape before heading back to the dance floor! Tidepools Aquarium.
Throughout the evening, enjoy door prizes, 50/50 tickets, a fun photo booth and more, with food and drinks available for purchase from Emelle’s Market Bistro. Come ready to dance, celebrate and kick off the Gibsons Seafood Festival with a night of deep-sea fun!

Fisherman’s Market Seafood Experience
Fisherman’s Market will be bringing their seafood expertise to Gibsons Seafood Festival on Saturday, September 19, with a full day of demonstrations, education, and special seafood offerings. Join the Fisherman’s Market team in the Community Kitchen for live filleting demonstrations throughout the day:
12:00 PM — Halibut
1:00 PM — Lingcod
2:00 PM — Spring Salmon
3:00 PM — Arctic Char
Between the cutting demonstrations, visitors can enjoy short seafood preparation demonstrations, including simple recipes such as ceviche. Fisherman’s Market will also be offering oyster shucking demonstrations and seafood education throughout the day, providing opportunities to learn more about selecting, preparing, and enjoying quality seafood.

SHUCKFEST AT SMITTY’S OYSTER HOUSE
On Sunday, September 20, Smitty’s Oyster House is bringing back ShuckFest! The event supports Gibsons Public Market and will feature a shucking competition bringing together some of the best shuckers from across BC, along with live music, delicious food and drinks, and a whole lot of fun. It’s sure to be a fantastic afternoon celebrating oysters, great food, and good times!
