Susan Harman

My creative voice uses the tools of photography and painting to digitally imagine the sentience of human beings. My art process begins with assembling and overlaying a collection of original photographs, then painting the surface with digital brushes and folding up the shapes to transform into an intuitive, visual message. A message to visualize the intangible emotions/feelings and concepts that often take our breath away – grief, change, faith, time, transformation, spirit, love.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Emily Carr University of Art & Design and have attended The Banff Centre for Art and Creativity. I was also a filmmaker for many years and my work toured extensively in film festivals. I have recently retired from over 20 years of teaching university level visual/graphic design courses in Vancouver. I have exhibited locally and in the Lower Mainland.

Tammy Hartmann

Tammy’s serious interest in art began when she retired from being a school principal in 2016. Thus began her journey of becoming a professional artist. She has no formal art training, other than working with her teacher and mentor Ed Hill, of Gibsons, B.C.

As an outdoor enthusiast, Tammy spends considerable time outdoors paddling, hiking, and biking on the Sunshine Coast. Like her mentor, she is always “looking for a painting.” Her artist’s eye takes over when outdoors – “Is there a painting there?” In her work, she strives to capture the essence of that moment in time when light and subject meet to create a perfect snapshot in time that can never be repeated.
