Pa Rainey was recorded singing Hank Williams tunes at 3 years old , but they didn’t want go on the Louisiana Hayride radio hour so he ran away with his guitar and kazoo . Fortunately Elizabeth Cotton was driving by with Will Shade , Leon Redbone and Memphis Minnie in Pete Seager’s car .They saw pa hitchhiking and gave him a ride .
They all had a great time drinking coffee and playing show tunes , been gigg’in ever since .
