Report to Community

As a not-for-profit society, we publish an annual report to the community sharing program highlights, challenges, achievements, and providing a brief financial update. We invite you to read our 2022 Report to Community by clicking the link below. Here’s an excerpt from our 2022 Report.

Building Community Together

Gibsons Community Building Society is a non-profit organization, with amazing volunteer governance and support, dedicated to building a healthy, caring and thriving community.

In a world filled with  uncertainty, the need to  strengthen our sense of wellbeing by feeling part of a  connected and caring  community is even greater. We are proud of the role Gibsons Public Market plays in fostering a multi-faceted, welcoming hub—a place where people of all ages can gather.

More than 7,500 people  including local families and  visitors celebrated the return of our Summer Night Markets. And we continued  our commitment to providing opportunities to connect with  our talented coastal artists, musicians, chefs and  entrepreneurs through our art displays, live music, Demo and Dine events, Food Truck  Fridays, public market merchants and our seasonal market places.

We are inspired by the wonder and awe on the faces  of children as they connect with the depth of biodiversity of Átl’ka7tsem | Howe Sound at the Nicholas Sonntag Marine Education Centre. They are learning to become
stewards of a healthy ocean at our unique collect-and-release aquarium, on our beaches and in our education programs and camps.

To our dedicated staff,  donors, volunteers, funders, supporters, Board Members and all who live, work and  play here — thank you! Together we are making a valued difference in our community.
