Reporting to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (“ED”) is the strategic and operational leader of Gibsons Community Building Society (“GCBS”), and is responsible for managing all aspects of the organization’s internal operations and outward facing activities, ensuring the organization remains aligned with the mission, vision, and strategic priorities and goals established by the Board. This includes both the Gibsons Public Market and the Nicholas Sonntag Marine Education Centre. As spokesperson and steward for the organization, the ED will facilitate key stakeholder, government, donor, volunteer, and grantee relationships to strengthen partnerships, opportunities, and community impact.
We’re looking for a visionary and energetic leader, with strong relationship and team building skills, a passion for community development and environmental stewardship, and a strong desire to continue growing the organization.
The Executive Director’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following areas:
•Board support and governance;
•Fundraising and development;
•Community leadership and engagement;
•Leadership and HR;
•Financial management; and
•Program development and facilities management.
