The Gibsons Public Market is open, six days a week, year-round, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Starting May 30, Emelle’s Catering Market Bistro opens at 9 a.m. for brunch.
The public market merchants opened for business on March 3, 2017. The official opening took place on April 29, 2017 with a blessing of the building by the Squamish Nation, the awakening of the posts at our main entrance (eagle and salmon carvings donated by Ghaslas [Richie] Baker, a Squamish Nation artist) and ribbon cutting.
Next is the phased opening of the Nicholas Sonntag Marine Education Centre (click here for details).
The public market is quickly becoming a regular destination for residents and visitors of the Sunshine Coast and neighbouring islands. The hub host community gatherings for food, entertainment, education and events. There is something here for everyone to enjoy.
Key ingredient to the success of the hub is its diverse offerings—from community kitchen activities, to the marine education centre, facilities for public meetings and entertainment, and on-site food market dedicated to featuring the best of our Coast.
